I’ve wanted to work with animals for as long as I can remember.

As a little girl, I was captivated by The Really Wild Show and dreamt of becoming the next Michaela Strachan. That passion shaped my childhood, leading me to spend weekends and school holidays on farms, in stables and pet shops, learning everything I could about the animals I loved.

I went on to study Animal Management at Shuttleworth College before continuing into Animal Behaviour at university. One of the highlights of that journey was working alongside the team on Autumnwatch, helping the camera crew capture Britain’s incredible wildlife—a dream I never imagined I’d get to experience.

Life, however, had other plans.

After becoming a mum at a young age, I made the difficult decision to leave university and build a career that could support my growing family. Although I spent years in the corporate world, I never stopped feeling drawn back to animals. Eventually, I decided to follow the passion that had been with me since childhood, retrained as a professional dog groomer and founded House of GG.

But I knew I wanted to create something different.

Having worked in traditional grooming salons, I saw first-hand how quickly dogs were moved through appointments, with pressure placed on both the groomers and the dogs themselves. I knew that wasn’t the experience I wanted to offer.

I believe grooming should never be rushed.

Dogs communicate with us constantly. Through their body language, behaviour and nervous system, they tell us when they need reassurance, a comfort break, a moment to pause or simply a little more patience. Listening to those signals has become the foundation of everything I do.

At House of GG, every appointment is calm, private and completely centred around your dog. I work at their pace, allowing trust to develop naturally because I truly believe you can’t put a price on the relationship between a dog and the person caring for them.

When you hand me your dog’s lead, I never take that responsibility lightly. I feel honoured that you’ve trusted me with a member of your family, and I promise to care for them as if they were one of my own.

More than beautiful grooming, I want every dog to leave feeling safe, relaxed and happy—and every owner to leave knowing they’ve found someone their dog genuinely loves spending time with.

Nothing makes me happier than hearing clients say, “He can’t wait to come back,” or “We’ve finally found someone we wouldn’t trust anyone else with.”

That’s what House of GG has always been about.
